The Location
The Hellenic Commercial Diving Academy (HE.CO.DI.A) is located in Agios Konstantinos, Fthiotida. It is 170 km from Athens and 325 km from Thessaloniki. The academy features spacious and modern facilities, providing an excellent environment for learning and progress. Our diving sites are only 2-5 minutes away from the school, so students are not burdened with long transfers by boat or car, allowing training time to be utilized efficiently.
The Equipment
HE.CO.DI.A has all the technical and diving equipment on-site, allowing its students to familiarize themselves with the work techniques used in various professions, such as maritime, oil, industrial, port-related, etc. The classroom is fully equipped, large, and ergonomically designed to offer our students the utmost convenience in following and participating in the theoretical courses. There is a dedicated dry welding classroom, a computer room, a library, two diving stations, an underwater work station, an L.A.R. station, and a tank for developing and completing all underwater skills, welding, and cutting required for a professional diver. Student transportation to the diving sites is done with our professional boats, fully equipped with all the necessary materials and documents for safe navigation. Finally, living facilities for students are available, equipped with the necessary amenities such as a kitchen, refrigerator, microwave, a variety of small appliances, a dining area, and showers.
The Training Team
HECODIA has specialized personnel and instructors with many years of experience in the field. Transferring their knowledge to our students is just the beginning. Our students are trained not just to receive a diploma but to be immediately prepared to work in the professional diving field, with knowledge, safety, and respect for the workplace, their colleagues, and the environment. The educational team consists of specialized instructors covering all areas of education, such as specialized diving instructors, professional divers, supervisors, first aid instructors, welding and cutting professors, diving school directors, a doctor, etc.
Practical Training
The practical training of future divers takes place in a wide range of locations:In the sea, in fresh water, in environments with reduced visibility, ports, aquaculture units, and particularly environments that simulate the exact conditions faced by professional divers. Thus, the technical platform of the school, which is linked to the variety of professional situations and training environments, becomes by far the unique, best, and most comprehensive in the Greek and Balkan market. It covers practically the maximum possible situations encountered by divers in their professional lives.Certification HE.CO.DI.A is the only Greek School for Commercial Diver Training and the only one in the Balkans, fully recognized abroad. We are the newest member of IDSA and one of its 17 members, fully authorized to issue IDSA professional certificates: “Commercial Scuba Diver (IDSA Level 1),” “Surface Supplied Inshore Air Diver (IDSA Level 2),” and “Surface Supplied Offshore Air Diver (IDSA Level 3),” all of which are fully recognized abroad by the two major international professional diving
Certificate
HE.CO.DI.A is the only Greek Commercial Diving School and the only one in the Balkans, fully recognized abroad. We are the newest member of IDSA and one of its 17 members, fully authorized to issue professional IDSA certificates, including the "Commercial SCUBA Diver (IDSA Level 1)", the "Surface Supplied Inshore Air Diver (IDSA Level 2)", and the "Surface Supplied Offshore Air Diver (IDSA Level 3)", all of which are fully recognized abroad by the two major international professional diving organizations: IDSA (International Diving School Association), an international organization that brings together major diving schools (there are about thirty schools worldwide, and only 17, including HE.CO.DI.A, are authorized to issue international diplomas) and develops courses and diving diplomas recognized abroad. IMCA (International Marine Contractors Association), essential for work in the offshore sector (oil and gas platforms, etc.).
